Could certain species hibernate temporarily to give others more space and time, extending their lifespan and slowing extinction?
“Hibernatemode” — A Solo Exhibition by Su Yu Hsin

In Antarctica, the rare Grimmia longirostris enters hibernation to survive extreme cold and ozone depletion, revealing the interconnectedness of all life.

Su Yu Hsin’s essayistic films traverse past and present. hibernatemode is a dual-channel, six-speaker installation with sound by Aloïs Yang, transporting viewers from FENKO to expansive landscapes under a resonant sky. Speculative Depthuses NASA open data to guide audiences through time, becoming time travelers themselves.
