The 2017 Taipei Fine Arts Museum “X-site” first prize, The Texture of Uncertainty, by Synchronic Composing Architects (Chiu Yu-wen and Hsu Wei-lun), transforms paper into a plaza metaphorically framed by five city ruins—a meeting point between the material and immaterial.

To endure three months outdoors, FENKO proposed inked paper with a waterproof coating and collaborated with CAI-PROBONDED to test composite techniques. Together with the artist group, FENKO’s paper became part of the installation: 240 sheets of spun cloth and 740 meters of cable shape 139 spatial impressions across 630 m², guiding visitors through light, paths, and the unknown.
“Paper gives rise to boundless power, unafraid of earth, water, fire, and wind.”
